Dear Members, guests and potential members,

For our next outing, meeting firstly at Loftus Oval on the Princes Highway just before the turn off to the Royal National Park at 10.00 am for our first photo shoot.

After a chat, we will drive convoy style for about 26 kms through the Royal National Park to Bundeena RSL for a water view lunch indoors in air-conditioned comfort (it might be hot or raining in February!). I have booked the restaurant for 25 people as I'm expecting this event to be popular. There will be time to explore the local area on foot before and after lunch if you desire.

Following lunch we will continue our drive south for about 36 kms to Stanwell Tops lookout for fantastic views and Saab appreciation. From there we will be free to exit towards the Princes Highway or drive back through the National Park towards Sydney. Whichever you prefer.

Date: Sunday 7th February 2010

Time: Meet at 10.00 am @ Loftus Oval, Princes Highway Loftus
(150 metres or so after passing over the railway tracks at Loftus heading south from Sydney)

Fees: Maximum $11.00 per car, pay as we enter the Royal National Park.

Lunch: 11.30 am at our own expense (good food, good prices)

Where: Bundeena RSL 69-71 Loftus St. Bundeena NSW 2230
http://www.bundeenarsl.com.au/

RSVP: Sunday 31st January 2010 for the lunch or just come for a drive anyway.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this special drive event.

All the best & kind regards

Event Report:

The weather wasn't looking good for Sunday, but it held out long enough for us to make the most of our drive turned "Saab Saved" convoy.
Good company and food along with a beautiful fleet of Saabs and a magnificent Saab cake courtesy of Sue and Allan was a recipe for success!

Also Swade from saabsunited.com has added us to the list of global Saab Convoy Campaigns.

Having lived in the Sutherland Shire for many years and spent the last 12 years living in Waterfall on the edge of the Royal National Park, I can highly recommend the drive through the RNP as the road is challenging and different, plus Bundeena RSL is a great place to eat. There are also some interesting shops and cafes in Bundeena on the road leading down to the ferry wharf.

I probably won't be in Sydney for this event since I'm relocating my family from NSW to SA this week (we have stage 1 of the Tour Down Under coming through Riverton where I live in SA on the 19th of January!), however I hope everyone who takes part in the drive through the RNP enjoys the day.

Craig.
